Jesus - The captain of our life

John 6 :16-21

"16When evening came, his disciples went down to the lake, 17where they got into a boat and set off across the lake for Capernaum. By now it was dark, and Jesus had not yet joined them. 18A strong wind was blowing and the waters grew rough. 19When they had rowed three or three and a half miles,[b] they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the water; and they were terrified. 20But he said to them, "It is I; don't be afraid." 21Then they were willing to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the shore where they were heading. "

In the above passage we read a very familiar incident from the Bible, but I find a big truth in it. The boat can be compared to our life, and the strong wind to all the tough and demanding situations that we face in our lives. All of us sail in this world. When life is smooth, We sail happily, but we are put to test when the problems of life rock our boat. When everything is fine, we are suddenly struck by a difficult situation in life and we are not sure as what to do to come out of it. We run to our relatives, friends and to everyone we know, but all our efforts go in vain and nobody is able to help us.

When Jesus entered the boat, it reached safely to the shore and His disciples were happy. Similarly the only answer to our problems is Jesus Christ. If we call out to Him in the days of our trouble, He is merciful to help us and bring us out of the trouble. Jesus Christ is the source of Joy and peace. He is the anwer to our problems. Our boat of life can go steady only if the captain is Lord Jesus Christ.
