Look unto the Lord

We are surrounded by many evil things around us. Many around us might be planning some sort of evil schemes to destroy us. This may anywhere, probably in the surroundings we live where our neighbors envy us and plan to destroy us for no fault of us. Also, this may happen in our work places where there may have some groups formed against us and plot some strategies against us.

We may be frightened by all these things. We may think that we are finished by these forces. We may not know what to do, and may be we are subdued by the mighty presence of our enemies. The word of God encourages us today that Deuteronomy 33:27
" The eternal God is your refuge,
and underneath are the everlasting arms.
He will drive out your enemy before you,
saying, 'Destroy him!' "

I came across this meaning for the word refuge "That which shelters or protects from danger, or from distress or calamity; a stronghold which protects by its strength, or a sanctuary which secures safety by its sacredness; a place inaccessible to an enemy". Imagine we are chased by wild tigers in a forest and we are alone. We run very fast for our life, and after sometime we don't have strength to run any more. It is now that we find a big cave. We enter inside it and shut the entrance. We would feel very safe inside insn't it?. What ever might happen outside, but we would feel absolutely secure inside.

God is the mighty cave for us today. When we are inside Him, nothing can penetrate us. No force or evil can harm us. He is our gaurd and protector. Dear friend, it will be all in vain if we try to solve all our problems by our own thinking and intelligience. We need God to help us and His help is just a little prayer away. All it takes is just to ask Him to come into our lives and fight our battles.

He is always ready to fight our battles.2 Chronicles 20 :15 says "Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's". What an assurance?. We need to believe in God's promises and surrender all our situations to Him. We can be assured that we will never lose any battle when the Lord is on our side. God bless you!
