We are all passionate about so many things in life. We have a passion for cars, houses, fame, money, job and many other things. Some of us have a passion for sports and dream ourselves to become great sports persons. Some of us have passion to become leaders, and to become greatest business magnets of this world.
Let us take a moment to analyze about our passions today. What are we so passionate about. We may think that if we can accompolish our passions, our life would be complete and happy. Let me tell you something different. All these passions are temporary and they pass away like a wind. They can never give us the happiness and peace we desire in our lives. The Bible says that the world and its ways are evil.
King Solomon was one of the most powerful kings to rule over Israel. He was the wisest man to have ever lived in the earth so far and for the days to come. He had all the riches, fame and honour. He was a handsome man. He had enjoyed everything under the sun. It is King Solomon who says “Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity. What profit hath a man of all his labour which he taketh under the sun?” · Ecclesiastes 1:2-3 .
Such is the vanity that the passions of this world can bring to us. We can never be satisfied by all these because there is only one passion that could make our life wholesome and meaningful. "A passion for Christ" is the need of the hour. It is what can renew our minds and transform us into wonderful people that God desires us to be.
Jesus Christ was so passionate on you and me that He gave Himself on the cross for you and me. Though He is the King of Kings, He became a humble servant for us and carried our sins to the cross.
This is the passion that Christ had on us. Phillipians 2:6-8 says
"Who, being in very nature[a] God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
7but made himself nothing,
taking the very nature[b] of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
8And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
and became obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
"
Let us be passionate for Jesus from today. Apostle Paul was so passionate for Jesus Christ, that he says in Phillipians 3:8 “I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord”
Let us be passionate in knowing more about Jesus, to grow more into His likeness. My dear friends, I want to tell you that it is the passion for Jesus that would liberate us out of all our bondages, addictions and evil clutches, and set us free.It is the passion for Christ that would give us the joy and peace that we desire. Will you start to have a passion for Christ?. Will you surrender your lives to Him?. All other passions in this world are vanity. Follow Jesus alone and your life will be transformed.
