Please read part 1 of this series here "http://seeklifepurpose.blogspot.com/2009/05/trapped-in-debt-part-1.html"
We will continue from where we left yesterday. We discussed how a life lived on luxury through debt can ruin us and lead us into a state of despair and shock. Let us take our attention to another important aspect. How many of us were mindful of God when we had a good time and plenty of supply all around?. We must accept the fact that we gave least importance to God during those times. All our trust and confidence were on our money, jobs and investments. We failed to realize the necessity of God in our lives.
We started to drift far away from God by giving importance to the passions of this world. We never spent time with God. We just prayed for namesake, attended church just for the sake of taking off the guilty conscience. We were living a life of fantasy. We had believed more in power and authority of human beings.
It is when disaster strikes that we realize the importance of God. He is too big a person to be ignored. Let us never forget this. God is the architect of this world. All were formed by Him. He rules over this world. It is God who governs this world and not any human being.God is in charge of the world. He is the ruler, the supreme president, the king. Unlike human rulers, however, God always does what is best for his subjects. He is the kind of king you'd like to be ruled by. God rules the world because he made the world. Like a potter with his clay, God fashioned the world into just the shape he wished, with all its amazing details. He made it, and he owns it.
Hebrews 1:10-12 says
"In the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.
11They will perish, but you remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.
12You will roll them up like a robe;
like a garment they will be changed.
But you remain the same,
and your years will never end"
We need to realize the fact that nothing happens in this world without God's permission. He permits certain things to happen in this world with a purpose. It is a great change that is taking place in the world because of the recession. Discipline is coming back into our lives. Our lavish spending habits are slowly going off. We have realized the need for God in our lives. We have started to bring God to be the center of our lives.
I believe that it is all God's plan to bring this recession so that a big change is made in the basic life style and thinking of everyone on this earth. Remember that God can shake anything in our lives. He can shake our health, our wealth, our treasures and everything if we fail to put God in center of our lives.
We will continue on this later...
