We all live amidst sin and many a times we do sin either deliberately or unknowingly. When we realize that we have sinned, if we are born again in Christ, our conscience makes us restless. This is the evidence of the Holy spirit in action that He makes us feel sorry for what we have done and wants us to repent for sin. It is in these situations that satan roars and tries to invade our thought process and accuse us of our sins. Revelation 12:10 says that satan is an accuser. Satan creates doubts in our mind and tries to destroy us, and if we yeild to his plans, we start to drift away from God and get lost in the world.
I believe that one of the secret of a victorious christian life is understanding the power of the blood that Jesus Christ shed on the cross for our salvation. Ephesians 1:7 says "In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace" . We need to understand clearly that the the moment we repent and ask for the forgiveness of our sin from the bottom of our hearts, the blood of Christ immediately cleanses our sin. We are filled with the grace of God and an unimaginable peace fills our heart.
We need to immediately ask God for the forgiveness after we commit a sin. If we delay, then our mind wanders far away and we may never ask for forgiveness and our hearts are hardened and this is the start of back sliding and destruction.
I want to stress the point that the forgiveness for our sins is just a prayer away. Whenever you are tortured by the thoughts of sin, Please remember this "There is power in the blood of Jesus". Victory is always ours when we have Jesus with us.
